Biography
I am an experienced educator with a strong foundation in both general and special education, dedicated to creating inclusive, differentiated learning environments where every child can thrive. Holding a BEd from the University of Lethbridge and an MEd in Educational Practice from Simon Fraser University, I am deeply committed to fostering opportunities that support the whole child through collaborative, team-based approaches. In addition to my formal education, I have participated in extensive professional development focused on supporting neurodiverse learners. This includes specialized training in autism, ADHD, self-regulation, trauma-informed practices, and adapted literacy. These areas of study continually inform and enrich my inclusive, strengths-based approach to education.
I believe that meaningful learning begins with a sense of belonging and is sustained by purposeful planning tailored to each learner’s unique strengths, talents, and preferences. My practice has centered on identifying and removing barriers to inclusion, while nurturing the social-emotional skills essential for academic success.
Throughout my career, I’ve served in diverse roles—classroom teacher, support teacher, learning assistance specialist, district helping teacher—and have also contributed to post-secondary education through mentoring and instruction of future educators and educational assistants. I bring a holistic, child-centered perspective to every learning community I serve.
